CORBA, Common Object Request Broker Architecture, Architekturstandard der OMG für verteilte Objektsysteme (objektorientierte Middleware). Der CORBA-Standard wurde 1992 definiert und seitdem mehrmals erweitert. Er beinhaltet eine Spezifikation für Object Request Broker (ORB) im Rahmen des OMG-Referenzmodells Object Management Architecture (OMA). CORBA-konforme verteilte Objektsysteme können als wesentliche technische und konzeptionelle Grundlage für die Entwicklung komponentenbasierter Software (Componentware) angesehen werden.
CORBA: Common Object Request Broker Architecture, OMG architectural standard for distributed object systems (object-oriented middleware). The CORBA standard was defined in 1992, and has since been expanded several times. It contains a specification for Object Request broker (ORB) within the framework of the OMG reference model Object Management Architecture (OMA). Distributed object systems that conform to CORBA can be seen as an important technical and conceptual basis for the development of component-based software ("component ware").
